Natural dry glue size dissolved 10-20% in water: Used as a glue; for sizing canvas, wood and paper; for making size paints (distemper). Soak glue several hours before dissolving it in a double boiler; do not let solution come to a boil. Apply when warm within 48 hours. Isolates the acids in oil paints and primer from the support preventing deterioration. Painting sized with hide glue should be kept in moisture controlled environments.
